Basketball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Find Success

Wilkes-Barre lost to Berwick back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack managed a 31-27 win over the Berwick Bulldogs. The 31-point effort marked the Wolfpack's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Berwick's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Robbins, who posted four points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Robbins is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Abby Calarco, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Wilkes-Barre and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Berwick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Wilkes-Barre will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hazleton Area at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Berwick, they will head out on the road to square off against Central Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
