Basketball Recap: Etna Lions vs. Modoc Braves

The Etna Lions lost against the Modoc Braves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between Etna and the Braves wasn't particularly close, with the Lions falling 51-33. While losing is never fun, Etna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 810th, while the Braves are ranked 332nd).

Modoc's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julianna Minto, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Minto hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Sandage, who scored 13 points along with five steals.

Etna has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Modoc, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.

Etna will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weed will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Modoc will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Shasta has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
