Basketball Game Preview: South Fork Bulldogs vs. Martin County Tigers

South Fork hasn't had much luck against Martin County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Fork Bulldogs will challenge the Martin County Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Fork is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 24th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Okeechobee. The matchup was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

South Fork's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Vivianna Morales, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and seven blocks, and Kylee Brooks, who put up eight points along with 14 rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Brooks a new career-high in rebounds.

Meanwhile, Martin County unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 78-46 loss at the hands of Grandview Prep. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Pride are ranked fourth).

South Fork's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Martin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.
