Soccer Game Preview: North Cobb vs. Marietta

The North Cobb Warriors will head out to take on the Marietta Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. North Cobb has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Marietta will come in with three straight wins.

North Cobb managed to keep up with Roswell until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Warriors lost 4-1 to the Hornets.

North Cobb's goal came courtesy of Mauricio Dias, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Marietta hadn't done well against Riverwood recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Blue Devils never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Give Marietta's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Marietta's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for North Cobb, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

North Cobb was able to grind out a solid victory over Marietta when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
