Basketball Recap: River Islands Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Venture Academy, River Islands was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Millennium Falcons by a score of 41-30. This was a revenge game for the Riptide: when they faced off against the Falcons back in January, they had to take a 48-25 defeat.

Millennium's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 boards, and Bella Tran, who posted six points and five steals. Digiallonardo has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played.

River Islands' win bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Millennium, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Coming up, River Islands will welcome Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millennium, they will head out to challenge Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millennium is facing Ben Holt College Prep Academy at the right time seeing as Ben Holt College Prep Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
