It was a proper cat-fight when Cibola challenged Clovis on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 21-8 victory over the Wildcats. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Hayes Baum threw for 40 yards on five of eight attempts. Julio Gutierrez was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards.

Cibola's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clovis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

After each having a week off, Cibola and Rio Rancho will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Cougars will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.4 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Clovis, they will head out to square off against Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
