Central dropped down to 7-3 on Wednesday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Northgate Vikings by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since October 30, 2024.

As for Northgate, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.

For Northgate's part, Journey Jackson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Jackson has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trinity Hargrett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will host South Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northgate, they will face off against Newnan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
