Baseball Recap: Bonny Eagle Comes Up Short

Bonny Eagle made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Falmouth, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Scots fell just short of the Navigators by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Navigators: they've now lost nine in a row.

Caleb Racicot was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Bonny Eagle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Bonny Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Falmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

When Bonny Eagle and Falmouth next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Scots will try to stop Thornton Academy's seven-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Falmouth will take on Cheverus and their seven-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Navigators 3.9, the Stags 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
