Football Recap: Cambridge-Isanti Comes Up Short

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-12, which was the final score in the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets's tilt against the Spring Lake Park Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bluejackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Panthers are ranked 41st).

This is the second loss in a row for Cambridge-Isanti and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Spring Lake Park, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Cambridge-Isanti will challenge Elk River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejackets will be up against the Elks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Spring Lake Park, they will face off against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 11, the Falcons 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
