Softball Recap: Charlton County Drops Season-High Score on Turner County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Charlton County). They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Turner County Titans on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kennedy Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Macariyah Gibbs was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since August 2nd. Ella Privett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Charlton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turner County only posted an OBP of .400.

The win was the fourth in a row for Charlton County, bringing their record up to 7-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Turner County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Charlton County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
