Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bellows Falls

Bellows Falls had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Springfield on Saturday. The Terriers blew past the Cosmos 15-3. Considering the Terriers have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Kissell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in June of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Steve JoSlyn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaden Bazin, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bellows Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Bellows Falls' third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Springfield, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Bellows Falls will challenge Hartford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Terriers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Springfield, they will face off against Woodstock at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wasps' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Cosmos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
