Basketball Game Preview: Big Bear Bears vs. Hesperia Christian Patriots

The Big Bear Bears will head out to square off against the Hesperia Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Bear has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 4.

Big Bear is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Silver Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Big Bear took a blow against Silver Valley, falling 75-17. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1298th, while the Trojans are ranked 568th).

Meanwhile, Hesperia Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Victor Valley. The matchup was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but the Patriots couldn't quite close it out.

Hesperia Christian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3. As for Big Bear, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

Big Bear was taken down by Hesperia Christian 48-6 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Big Bear avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
