Baseball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mt. Pulaski extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 11-5. They put the hurt on the Lanphier Lions with a sharp 17-9 victory. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

As for Lanphier, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

For Lanphier's part, Zack Proctor was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Garcia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pulaski will challenge Routt Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lanphier, they will take on Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
