Basketball Game Preview: Montoursville Warriors vs. Shamokin Area Indians

Montoursville hasn't had much luck against Shamokin Area recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Montoursville Warriors will square off against the Shamokin Area Indians at 7:15 p.m.

Montoursville is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Monday. They were beaten by Jersey Shore 69-18. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 538th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 94th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shamokin Area). They snuck past Milton with a 61-55 win on Friday.

Montoursville's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Shamokin Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Montoursville suffered a grim 52-31 defeat to Shamokin Area in their previous matchup on January 3rd. Can Montoursville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
