Football Game Preview: West Chargers vs. Piper Pirates + How To Watch

West is 0-3 against Piper since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. West has given up an average of 52.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Leavenworth on Friday. They were outmatched by the PIONEERS and fell 56-6.

Despite the loss, West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nasir'E Williams-Brown rushed for 89 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Williams-Brown got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 57 yards.

Meanwhile, Piper humbled Turner with a 43-7 victory. The game marked the Pirates' most dominant win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Piper and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points over those games. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

West was taken down by Piper 58-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Pirates' Roman Byers, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
