Football Game Preview: Northgate Vikings vs. Lovejoy Wildcats + Official Tickets

Northgate has won three straight games at home, while Lovejoy has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Vikings will welcome the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Northgate 14.6, Lovejoy 11.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Northgate had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Langston Hughes put an end to it on Friday. The Vikings were beaten by the Panthers 40-5. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this matchup were averaging 14.63 points allowed.

Northgate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Jones and Keaton Stigall. With that strong performance, Stigall is now averaging an impressive 5.4 total tackles per game. Brysen Davies was another major factor on D, making 19 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lovejoy challenged Newnan on Friday. The Wildcats took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Northgate came up short against Lovejoy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 20-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Ryan Henson, who rushed for 70 yards and two scores, and also threw for 128 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes.
