Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Falcons vs. California Grizzlies

Foothill hasn't had much luck against California recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Foothill Falcons will take on the California Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m.

Foothill is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Saturday. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of American. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 720th, while the Eagles are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, California came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 61-56 W over the Titans.

California's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Foothill was taken down by California 76-25 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Foothill was down 50-16.
