Football Recap: United South Central/Genesis Classical Academy Takes a Loss

United South Central/Genesis Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southland Rebels.

Southland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Sayles, who rushed for 64 yards and two TDs on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Sayles has posted since back in October of 2024. Cael Smith was another key back, rushing for 84 yards and one touchdown.

United South Central/Genesis Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Southland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

United South Central/Genesis Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 victory against Martin County West on the 9th. As for Southland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 51-14 win against Hayfield on the 10th.
