Basketball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. Lincoln Hornets

Mission Bay is 0-6 against Lincoln since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mission Bay Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lincoln Hornets at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mission Bay is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Clairemont to the tune of 53-16 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Buccaneers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Lincoln made off with a 43-42 win over St. Mary's.

Lincoln is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Mission Bay, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Mission Bay was dealt a bruising 69-6 defeat at the hands of Lincoln when the teams last played back in December of 2021. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mission Bay was down 41-6.
