Softball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Comes Up Short

Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Swainsboro. Washington-Wilkes was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Swainsboro apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Swainsboro, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Washington-Wilkes will challenge Oglethorpe County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swainsboro, they will square off against Statesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
