Basketball Recap: University City Centurions vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons

University City lost against Cathedral Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The University City Centurions lost 64-42 to the Cathedral Catholic Dons. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Dons are ranked 98th).

Despite the loss, University City still got an impressive performance from Kami Demara, who went 6 of 15 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Topanga Tusantoso, who posted eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Cathedral Catholic found their leader in sophomore Mckinnley Hanlon, who went 10 for 19 on her way to 32 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hanlon has scored all season. Khloe Lopez was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

University City has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Cathedral Catholic, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

University City has already played their next game (against Morse), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cathedral Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-20 loss against La Jolla Country Day on the 1st.
