Basketball Recap: Mare Island Tech Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Leadership Public Schools Richmond

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mare Island Tech Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas by a score of 25-15. The win continues a trend for the Griffins in their matchups with the Pumas: they've now won three in a row.

Mare Island Tech Academy found their leader in sophomore Alissandra Junio, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Juliana Contreras was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

Mare Island Tech Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Leadership Public Schools Richmond, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Mare Island Tech Academy nor Leadership Public Schools Richmond have any future games scheduled.
