Basketball Game Preview: Maplewood Tigers vs. Neshannock Lancers

The Maplewood Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Neshannock Lancers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Neshannock is hoping to do what Commodore Perry couldn't on Friday: put an end to Maplewood's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Maplewood took their matchup with ease, bagging a 55-24 victory over Commodore Perry. 55 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Neshannock). They breezed by Armstrong to the tune of 67-29 on Saturday. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Neshannock has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Maplewood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
