Baseball Recap: Stearns Drops Season-High Score on Lee Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stearns). They put the hurt on the Lee Academy Pandas with a sharp 22-5 win on Wednesday. Considering the Minutemen have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln Daisey was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Stearns is undefeated when Daisey posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Ben Waite was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Stearns always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

The victory made it two in a row for Stearns and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Lee Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Stearns will take on Mattanawcook at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lee Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Minutemen's matchup: after the Minutemen face off against the Lynx, they'll take on Lee Academy again at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
