Soccer Game Preview: Branham vs. Pioneer

The Branham Bruins will venture away from home to square off against the Pioneer Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Branham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Branham's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Evergreen Valley. Given Branham's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Evergreen Valley are ranked 931st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaori Rinehart and Megan Hellgren scored all three of Branham's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Pioneer's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Piedmont Hills 1-0.

Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-4. As for Branham, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-4-4.
