Basketball Recap: Centennial Broncos vs. Superior Wildcats

Centennial lost against Superior back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Centennial Broncos were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Superior Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Wildcats are ranked 46th).

Centennial lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marley Olson, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (57%). Another player making a difference was Catelynn Bargen, who scored eight points and seven rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Superior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Meyers, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Centennial has already played their next match, a 47-37 win against Doniphan-Trumbull on the 10th. As for Superior, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-32 victory against Smith Center on the 10th.
