Basketball Game Preview: Alhambra Bulldogs vs. Acalanes Dons

Alhambra is 2-8 against Acalanes since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Alhambra Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Acalanes Dons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Alhambra earned a 40-33 win over Benicia.

Meanwhile, Acalanes had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They breezed by the Broncos to the tune of 76-24. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-18.

Acalanes pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Alhambra, they have also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Alhambra was dealt a bruising 77-12 defeat at the hands of Acalanes in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Alhambra was down 47-4.
