Grayslake Central dropped their record down to 12-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan, falling 10-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rams have suffered since May 14, 2024.

As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.

For Chicago Mt. Carmel's part, the team relied heavily on Haiden Lajcin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Lajcin a new career-high. Joey Ireland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
