Basketball Recap: New Hope Comes Up Short + How To Watch

New Hope was the 69-64 winner over Itawamba Agricultural when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Thursday.

Calon Shumpert was his usual excellent self, shooting 64% from the field on his way to 23 points and six boards for Itawamba Agricultural. The matchup was Shumpert's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Holliday, who posted 15 points.

New Hope's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

New Hope will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Booneville at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-27 loss against Jasper on the 22nd.
