Thomas More Prep-Marian came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 42-21 to the Smith Center Redmen. The defeat continues a trend for the Monarchs in their meetings with the Redmen: they've now lost seven in a row.

Thomas More Prep-Marian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Smith Center, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Thomas More Prep-Marian will host Oakley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs will be up against the Plainsmen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
