Softball Recap: West Forsyth's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

West Forsyth came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the North Atlanta Warriors with a sharp 8-1 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 20-8 victory on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Bare spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Hamlin, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Maren Moskau was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

West Forsyth's record now sits at 13-11. As for North Atlanta, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
