Softball Preview: Northglenn Norsemen vs. Fairview Knights

The Northglenn Norsemen will head out to face off against the Fairview Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Northglenn after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Riverdale Ridge, falling 14-4. The Norsemen haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jocelyn Evans was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and 12 unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Evans wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kloe Barela, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Northfield hit Fairview with a nine-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 14-4 to the Nighthawks.

Northglenn's record now sits at 8-12. As for Fairview, their record is now 7-14.

Northglenn took their victory against Fairview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score.
