Baseball Game Preview: Lanier Longhorns vs. Johns Creek Gladiators

The Lanier Longhorns will square off against the Johns Creek Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Lanier after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Johns Creek by a score of 5-4. The Longhorns have struggled against the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Lanier got a good showing from Noah Norton, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Norton a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Andrew Lee made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Elias Barsikh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

Even though they lost, Lanier lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Johns Creek, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lanier, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
