Turkeyfoot Valley Area piles up the points against Hancock

The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams won the last time they faced the Hancock Panthers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Turkeyfoot Valley Area really took it to Hancock for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-22 win on the road. The victory was all the more spectacular given Turkeyfoot Valley Area's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 601st in Pennsylvania, while Hancock is ranked 276th in Maryland).

Leading Turkeyfoot Valley Area to victory were Maleigha Younkin and Shyanne Schur. Younkin dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds, while Schur scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Younkin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiah Schartiger, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Hancock, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turkeyfoot Valley Area will challenge Bishop Walsh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hancock, they will head out on the road to face off against Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley Springs is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
