Softball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Central Fellowship Christian Academy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-5 to the Gatewood Gators. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Gators when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Anna Sweatt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Vesey, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Gatewood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Central Fellowship Christian Academy will face off against Stratford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gatewood, they will head out on the road to challenge Georgia Military College at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
