Basketball Recap: Santa Barbara Takes a Loss

Santa Barbara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Ventura Cougars and fell 75-32. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-7 back in January.

Ventura was led to victory by Brinley Anderson and Kailee Staniland. Anderson dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds, while Staniland went 12 of 20 en route to 32 points along with six assists and three steals. The game was Anderson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sofia Martinez, who posted six points and five boards.

Santa Barbara's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Ventura, the victory (which was their 25th in a row) raised their record to 26-2.

Santa Barbara does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ventura has already played their next matchup (against Buena), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
