Baseball Game Preview: Central Lions vs. South Paulding Spartans

Central is 0-10 against South Paulding since February of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Lions will host the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Central's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Lee-Scott Academy hitters got past them. The Lions fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, South Paulding came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 7-2.

South Paulding pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
