Football Game Preview: Belen Eagles vs. Los Alamos Hilltoppers + How To Watch

The Belen Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Los Alamos Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Belen put up the most points they have all season two weeks ago. They took down Del Norte 56-38.

Gonzalo Cano produced another solid effort rushing for 213 yards and three scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 213 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jeremiah Lord made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Belen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Belen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lord and Noah Gonzalez. Lord got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Los Alamos put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Del Norte 62-12. That looming 62-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hilltoppers yet this season.

Belen's record now sits at 2-3. As for Los Alamos, their record is now 6-0.

Belen couldn't quite finish off Los Alamos in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 36-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Hilltoppers' Jordan Herrera, who rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 47 receiving yards.
