Softball Recap: Sioux City East Comes Up Short

Sioux City East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Lyon Wildcats.

Sioux City East's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for West Lyon, the win keeps they at an undefeated 22-0.

Coming up, Sioux City East will take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on July 7. As for West Lyon, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Sergeant Bluff-Luton on the 28th.
