Basketball Game Preview: Inglewood Sentinels vs. Leuzinger Olympians

Inglewood hasn't had much luck against Leuzinger recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Inglewood Sentinels will be playing at home against the Leuzinger Olympians at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Inglewood is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Culver City on Friday. They were outmatched by the Centaurs and fell 65-24. The Sentinels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-7.

Meanwhile, Leuzinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Alemany.

Despite the loss, Leuzinger saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tatyana Aubry went 9 for 12 en route to 22 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Brianna Ike, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 14 points.

Inglewood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Leuzinger, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Inglewood was taken down by Leuzinger 82-5 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Inglewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
