Softball Recap: Eagle Valley's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Eagle Valley entered their tilt with Meeker on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Cowboys 16-7. The result was nothing new for the Devils, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Lily Brueck and Samantha Kolzcak did most of the damage at the plate: Brueck went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and four runs, while Kolzcak went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Kolzcak a new career-high. Lauryn Albers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eagle Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.

Eagle Valley's record is now 8-12-1. As for Meeker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.

Eagle Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-8 loss against Montezuma-Cortez on the 9th. As for Meeker, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Eaton on the 18th.
