Softball Recap: Eagle Valley's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Eagle Valley came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Meeker Cowboys as they made off with a 16-7 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-4 on Tuesday.

Lily Brueck and Samantha Kolzcak did most of the damage at the plate: Brueck went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and four runs, while Kolzcak went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Kolzcak a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Albers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eagle Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.

Eagle Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-12-1. As for Meeker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.

As of now, neither Eagle Valley nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
