Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Hebron Christian

Hebron Christian won against Stephens County last Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Hebron Christian walked away with a 6-1 win over Stephens County. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Brodie Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since March 1st.

On the hitting side, Destin Matthews was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Thomas Stallworth was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Hebron Christian pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Stephens County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

Hebron Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Stephens County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
