Football Recap: Cobre Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cobre extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a blow against the Hatch Valley Bears, falling 45-12. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bears since Friday.

Eythan Castillo threw for 51 yards and a pair of TDs. Luis Molina was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Hatch Valley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. The game was the first time they have beaten Cobre on their field since November 3, 2017.

David Dumas had a dynamite game, rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cobre is set to challenge their familiar foe Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hatch Valley will square off against rival New Mexico Military Institute at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
