Softball Recap: McCook Bison vs. Alliance Bulldogs
With a playoff game on the line, McCook rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Alliance Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 win. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
McCook got a big performance out of Roslyn Wiemers, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Brooklynn Gillen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McCook hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alliance struck out eight times.
McCook pushed their record up to 24-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Alliance, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-24.
McCook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-3 win against Scottsbluff on the 7th. Alliance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
