Football Game Preview: Alburnett Pirates vs. Bellevue Comets

The Alburnett Pirates will challenge the Bellevue Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Alburnett had just enough and edged out West Branch 20-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bellevue). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over Monticello. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bellevue's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Alburnett, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Alburnett beat Bellevue 38-27 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
