Softball Recap: Overland Trailblazers vs. Silver Creek Raptors
Overland extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-7. They lost 15-4 to the Silver Creek Raptors. The Trailblazers were not able to make up for their loss to the Raptors from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.
Overland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michaela Halton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another was Kourtnie Batcho, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Silver Creek, their record now sits at 11-8. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Silver Creek's side, they got a great performance from Rylyn Fordham as she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Fordham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Keyshia Vigil-Rabun was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby LaCrosse was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overland will host Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silver Creek, they will take on Niwot at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
