Soccer Recap: St. Francis Victorious

On Saturday, it was close, but the St. Francis Troubadours sidestepped the Christian Brothers Falcons for a 2-1 victory. Given the Troubadours' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Falcons are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marissa Ow and Miley Blough scored both of St. Francis' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

St. Francis' win bumped their record up to 9-4-4. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will face off against Granite Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis' last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Christian Brothers, they will take on Woodcreek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodcreek will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Christian Brothers surely won't give up without a fight.
