Soccer Game Preview: Chowchilla vs. Minarets

The Chowchilla Tribe will square off against the Minarets Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Chowchilla's offense. They came up short against Fresno Christian on Friday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Tribe in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Minarets' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Neither they nor Liberty could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Mustangs happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 14th.

Their goal came courtesy of Jadyn Benak, who's now up to six this season.

With that draw, Minarets' record moves to 10-4-2. As for Chowchilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1.

Chowchilla was able to grind out a solid win over Minarets in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Chowchilla repeat their success, or does Minarets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
