Basketball Recap: Gabi Dull's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blair County Christian over Canaan Christian Academy

After flying high against Tournament Opponent last Thursday, Blair County Christian came back down to earth. The Blair County Christian Bobcats fell 49-37 to Canaan Christian Academy on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 40-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Blair County Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabi Dull, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 37.8% of Blair County Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row Dull has posted more than a third of the team's points. Makayla Huston was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Blair County Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

The loss snapped Blair County Christian's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-9 record. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.3 points on average over those games. As for Canaan Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

As of now, neither Blair County Christian nor Canaan Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
