Baseball Recap: Assumption Comes Up Short

Assumption was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Athens Bluejays. The Royals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejays from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Assumption saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JT Schlaefer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Camden Martin was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Assumption's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Athens, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Assumption will square off against Weyauwega-Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they will host Medford at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
